Users who do not wish to receive session variables will hot be able access to some areas of the site and limit your use of some of the CareerCrossHaken services.

IP Addresses

CareerCrossHaken’s web servers gather your IP address to assist with the diagnosis of problems or support issues with our services. Again, information is gathered in aggregate only and cannot be traced to an individual user.

Cracking by Unfair Access

CareerCrossHaken prevents unfair access from outside by establishing firewalls.

JavaScript

The CareerCross website uses JavaScript for certain parts of the service. Certain service cannot be used when the JavaScript is not effective. Setting of JavaScript can be made by the Internet Option or Setting menus of a browser.

Registration

Registration is necessary if you wish to apply for positions advertised on CareerCross. Registration allows you to take advantage of more of the tools and resources that assist you in finding a job. Registration includes submitting your email address. You may access this information at any time by clicking ‘Control Panel’ on ‘CareerCrossHaken’, or by clicking here.

Job Mail

Job Mail is an optional service. CareerCrossHaken requests that you provide information relating to your employment preferences as well as your email address so that we may notify you via email of jobs specific to your needs. Users can modify or delete their Job Mail profiles at any time by going to the ‘Control Panel’ area of the site.

Resumes

As part of the online job service, CareerCrossHaken provides registered members with the option of creating a resume to use for application. You may also choose to allow CareerCrossHaken clients to view your resume. CareerCrossHaken provides the following privacy options:

Private CareerCrossHaken Resumes

CareerCrossHaken provides the option of creating a resume and making it ‘Private’. This means that your resume will not be made available to employers and recruiters and can be used solely for making job applications on CareerCrossHaken.

Public & Anonymous CareerCrossHaken Resumes

CareerCrossHaken provides the option of making your online resume ‘Public’ or ‘Anonymous’. Selecting one of these options means your resume will be available for viewing by employers and recruiters who pay to access CareerCrossHaken’s resume database. Though all efforts are taken so that access is given only to those who have requested it via CareerCrossHaken, we cannot guarantee that other parties will not without our consent gain access to this database.

Online Applications

Making an online application to a job advertisement on CareerCrossHaken is a free and optional service that requires registration. Job applications require you to complete mandatory fields (first name, last name, email and enter a resume) so that the advertiser can identify and contact you. Your application, including resume and cover letter, is then forwarded directly on to the third party advertiser.

Email communications from CareerCrossHaken

CareerCrossHaken also provides you with selected information about working in Japan and career-related topics in our email newsletter CC Mail Magazine. This free service is sent to registered users and provides the option of opting out of receiving these by changing your preferences in ‘Control Panel’. CareerCrossHaken may also make you aware of additional products and services which form part of your relationship with CareerCrossHaken.

Storage & Security of Personal Information

CareerCrossHaken takes all reasonable steps to ensure the security of our system. CareerCrossHaken allows you to access your information at any time to keep it accurate and up to date. Any information which we hold for you is stored on secure servers that are protected in controlled facilities.

In addition, our employees and the contractors who provide services related to our information systems are obliged to respect the confidentiality of any personal information held by CareerCrossHaken. However, CareerCrossHaken will not be held responsible for events arising from unauthorized access of your personal information.

 

You can also play an important role in keeping your personal information secure, by maintaining the confidentiality of any password and accounts used on the CareerCrossHaken site. Computer use environment

CareerCrossHaken’s website is optimized for Internet Explorer 5, Mozilla 1.0, Netscape 4.78 or their newer versions. CareerCrossHaken uses an SSL certificate issued by GeoTrust to encrypt information. Information transmitted via email will be encrypted to prevent unjust access.

Use of the system requires browser software such as Netscape navigator or Internet Explorer which can deal with SSL.
